Our co-founders said it loud and proud on day one, and we've said it again every day since. Zero animal testing. It’s the right thing to do.

Look out for our logo

Our pioneer logo will soon be featured on all of our products to emphasise and highlight our dedication. We want you to feel good about choosing and using Paul Mitchell®.

SELLING IN CHINA

In 2017, we successfully gained acceptance to market select Paul Mitchell® and Tea Tree products in China — without animal testing!

After forming a dedicated team, creating relationships with experts and educators, and partnering with a U.S.-based testing facility, we are able to service hairstylists and guests in China while maintaining our core corporate value of zero animal testing.

PETA

We have supported PETA’s efforts to end animal testing for many years. In 1989, we became the first hair care company to publicly oppose animal testing when we signed PETA’s statement of assurance, pledging never to test its products on animals.

NO ANIMAL TESTING

NEVER HAVE. NEVER WILL.

Here at Paul Mitchell®, we’re passionate about beauty from the inside out. And that commitment has been at the core of all that we do since we began in 1980. That’s why we were the first professional beauty company to publicly stand up against animal testing — and over 40 years later, we’re still rockin’ that pledge to our furry friends.

Testing on animals is cruel and unnecessary, yet a lot of beauty brands still engage in this ugly practice. Not us! We never have, and we never will. All our products are researched, formulated and tested on humans, and that’s why we’re proud to have our very own Production Innovation Center to perfect our products for you.

We didn’t stop there! We’ve committed to carrying only vegan leather shear cases and styling accessories, and all of our brushes are made with synthetic bristles rather than animal hair (Because, surprise! Those animals aren’t "donating" their hair to the beauty cause!).

"In the very beginning of the company, when John Paul and my father started, they put, 'we do not test on animals' on a bottle. That was unheard of back in the early 1980s. No one did that."
