Angus Mitchell, Co-owner and Artistic Director of Education for Paul Mitchell

Angus Mitchell

Co-owner and Artistic Director of Education

Angus Mitchell was born into
the legacy of late, legendary hairstylist Paul Mitchell. As the son of the hair fashion icon, Angus' unique upbringing in the hair industry exposed him to
the same passion that inspired his father, leading him to eventually fulfill
his destiny in the first family of hair. Educated at Vidal Sassoon, Angus has been able to combine their legendary precision technique with the free creative expression Paul Mitchell® encourages
to craft his own signature style.

Angus currently travels the world for hair events on behalf of Paul Mitchell.
He makes his home in Los Angeles, where he has forged his own professional identity as a platform artist and educator. Angus is also the model and spokesperson for Paul Mitchell's first-ever men's line, MITCH®. In his work with Paul Mitchell, Angus takes advantage of every creative outlet that affords him hands-on opportunities with all aspects of the beauty industry. As an educator, Angus is dedicated to keeping the excitement in the business for the next generation of professionals, as well as for those that have made Paul Mitchell what it is today.

The loss of his father inspires
Angus' philanthropic work with PanCan, a foundation dedicated to advancing research, supporting patients and creating hope for anyone affected by pancreatic cancer.

Angus is also an advocate for environmental research and preservation. In 2007, Angus generously donated
a historic coastal property in Hawaii, valued at $6.5 million, to the Nature Conservancy. Once part of the landholdings of King Kamehameha I, laden with fish ponds and green sea turtles, Angus preserved the land
in hopes that Hawaiians will see it as
a place of serenity where they can also walk in history.

My favorite product is…

MITCH® Clean Cut®.  It gives me a clean, well-groomed look without looking over-styled.

My greatest accomplishment is…

Being Artistic Director of Education and Co-owner of Paul Mitchell®. I've also been honored to be the face of MITCH, Paul Mitchell's first-ever men’s grooming line. Paul Mitchell has provided me with many great opportunities, however I feel my greatest accomplishments are yet to come.

I love Paul Mitchell because…

The company has kept the promise that my father and John Paul made years ago: to stay true to the professional hairdresser and the beauty industry.

I started with Paul Mitchell…

As a young man, by my father’s side.

The first time I styled on stage…

Was with industry legend Jeanne Braa, fresh out of beauty school.

The best advice I ever got was…

From John Paul, to never react emotionally.

To me, living beautifully means…

Living selflessly, not selfishly. I am so blessed to be part of a company that impacts the world with its many philanthropic efforts.
