HOW TO ‘WINTERPROOF’ YOUR HAIR
Sun exposure combined with blustery wind, snow, rain and icy cold conditions can all come together to create some pretty bad winter hair days. Keep your tresses tip-top with a little advice and a helping-hand from our favourite products.
Say Goodbye to Dry
Treat your hair once a week to a deep conditioning treatment to help replenish moisture. Look for key ingredients like essential fatty acids and humectants to revitalize, repair and renew hair. Try The Detangler Super Rich Conditioner to soften and smooth even the driest of locks.
An alternative is to use hair oil after you’ve shampooed your hair. It’s like liquid gold for dehydrated or color-treated hair, and can be used on damp hair before blow-drying or on dry hair to fight frizz. We recommend using between 1-3 drops of Rare Oil Treatment or Rare Oil Treatment Light depending on the coarseness of your hair.
Stop the Static
Whether you’re taking cover under a cosy beanie all-season long or braving the elements exposed, combat frizzy static with a heat styling product like Hot off the Press. Spray onto dry hair before using heat styling tools to keep flyaways at bay and add light control to your style.
Less Is More
Keep washing your hair to a minimum, two to three times a week maximum if possible. This will prevent your hair from drying out too much over the coldest months. If you feel the need to give your locks a refresh during washes try a light waterless dry shampoo like Dry Wash to give your hair a boost.
Keep Up the Maintenance
Regular trims help keep your hair in good health during the winter. Visit your stylist every six to eight weeks for a light clean-up of the ends to help reduce the chance of dry, splitting ends.
Happy Styling!
